A Beautiful 3rd Grade Wedding
1. Save the Date: Installation of Rabbi Rebecca Epstein
Friday, March 1 beginning at 5:00 PM
Friends and families of all ages are invited to join us for a special dinner and Shabbat service to officially welcome Rabbi Epstein to the CBE family! Yachad students present will help lead the service together!
2. Upcoming Closures | Presidents’ Week
Yachad will be closed Saturday Feb 16- Saturday Feb 23 for Presidents’ Week.
3. URJ Camp Info Session & Lunch 2/9
This Saturday the Director of URJ Crane Lake Camp, Debbie Shriber, will be coming to CBE to tell us all about Eisner, Crane Lake, and Sci-Tech! This is a great opportunity for students and parents to ask questions and learn about the URJ camping system. We will be providing lunch as the presentation will be directly after Yachad in the Ballroom. Please email Hannah Isaacs (email@example.com) to let her know you’re attending!
General 3rd Grade Information
A huge Mazel Tov to all of our 3rd graders for an amazing Mock Wedding this past Saturday! I am SO proud of all of their hard work and dedication during this unit and it was lovely seeing so many of you at the Mock Wedding.
Below, are the updates for Monday and Wednesday’s classes since we were closed on Tuesday and had our event on Saturday.
Lauren’s Monday’s & Wednesday’s Jewish Studies
On Monday, students reminisced about the wedding and created their own wedding photo album by drawing their favorite parts of the wedding. On Wednesday, we started our new unit all about B’nai Mitzvah. Next week, we will continue to learn more about it.
<h2>Michal’s Monday’s & Wednesday’s Jewish Studies
This week students, in honor of family day in Israel that was celebrated on Tuesday, students made their own pop-up book. The books told a story inspired by their own families. Some were based on real events, while others took more creative liberties. They will be finishing them next week. We also started talking about our next subject all about B’nai Mitzvah. In the Gallery, you can find a picture of one of the pop-up books.
HTM with Inbal
This week we focused on directions: Front – kadima – קדימה, Back – achora – אחורה, Left – smola – שמאלה, Right – yemin – ימין.
We practiced these words using different dance moves, which ended in a big dance party!
