Fall Transitions Group for CBE Moms
August 25, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
PLEASE NOTE THIS GROUP IS AT CAPACITY. PLEASE EMAIL RABBI REBECCA EPSTEIN AT REPSTEIN@CBEBK.ORG WITH ANY QUESTIONS.
If you’re grappling with the decision to send your kids to school, feeling strained working from home, or suffering relationship conflicts, we are too—and we aren’t afraid to talk about it! Under the best of circumstances, the fall can be overwhelming. This year, coping on our own may prove to be a daunting task. Evidence shows that instead of suffering in isolation, a “tend and befriend” combination of self-care and strong social support has the greatest impact in reducing distress.
We invite you to join our six-session virtual group, which will build an emotional support structure forging resilience and generative connections, as we work through issues of uncertainty, stress, loss, and anxiety. We will weave in themes from the Jewish New Year, a season to reflect on transitions, and gain strength from our traditions and our community.
Co-lead by Rabbi Epstein and Lindsey Liben, LCSW. Lindsey Liben is a NYC-based psychotherapist specializing in women’s issues. She lives in Brooklyn with her family and is actively involved in the CBE and ECC communities. Her therapeutic approach is warm, sensitive, non-judgmental, and combines tenets of psychodynamic psychotherapy, CBT and positive psychology.
