Brooklyn Jews Shabbat Dinner in partnership with Repair the World
January 18, 2019 @ 7:30 pm
Join Repair the World and our partners for the fifth annual Shabbat dinner in honor of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We come together as a community with a common goal of sparking dialogue around the injustice that many experience at the hands of white supremacy. While we break bread we will spend time learning the ways in which each of us can take action through service, advocacy, and organizing. We will be hearing from three Brooklyn thought-leaders: Yehudah Webster, Rachel Timoner, Senior Rabbi at Congregation Beth Elohim, and Mark Winston Griffith, Founder and ED of the Brooklyn Movement Center. They will share their experiences and knowledge on ways in which we can come together as a community to challenge oppression and white supremacy within our community and the world at large.
In partnership with UJA Federation of NY, Congregation Beth Elohim, and others. This meal is nourished by OneTable.
All are welcome, regardless of identity and affiliation. This event is geared to people in their 20’s and 30’s.
