Brooklyn Jews, OneTable, and the CBE Refugee Task Force present  “A Taste of Syria: Celebrating Syrian Culture and New Lives in America” which will feature dinner by Tanabel, a Brooklyn-based company that works with refugee women from across the Middle East, and a talk with Qutaiba Idlbi, an activist from Damascus who will speak about his experiences in the war and since moving to New York.

Join us for a whiskey l’chaim and Brooklyn Jews Shabbat service at 6:30pm, with this dinner to follow! If you’d like to come just for dinner, we’ll begin right after services around 7:40. Please note: the price of this meal ensures that the women of Tanabel receive fair and meaningful pay for their work.

Tanabel is a food company that works with refugee women from across the Middle East, preparing and preserving their traditional recipes. We host pop-up dinners, cater events and teach cooking classes! Our authentic, generous and delicious meals allow our cooks to share a taste of home with their new community and provide them with meaningful and empowering employment.
