Brooklyn Jews: The Sabbath Dance

The Sabbath Dance is an ecstatic container for Jews and non-Jews alike to bring in Shabbat through the transformative power of dance. Join us at the CBE Ballroom in Park Slope for a 3-part Shabbat experience. We begin with an embodied warm-up led by Sandra Levyk of Women’s Night of Dance using movement to help us locate and experience the Sabbath Bride within ourselves. We then sweat our prayers in an ecstatic dance set led by poet and performance artist DJ Oatmeal as we allow Maariv to flow through our bodies in a state of ecstatic release. Lastly, we melt into the stillness of Shabbat with a sound bath led by sound artist Malka Russel. Come dressed to move and ready to sweat. Click here to learn more and get tickets.
