CBE and Antioch Baptist Church

This weekend marks the first time that CBE and Antioch Baptist Church in Bedford-Stuyvesant will join together in Shabbat/Sabbath prayer, song, and community!

As mentioned a few weeks ago, this Friday night singers from CBE and members of the Antioch Baptist praise team will lead us in song at CBE Kabbalat Shabbat services. And on Sunday at 11:00 AM, the CBE community is invited to join the congregation at Antioch Baptist Church for their morning worship service. We hope you will join us at both as our communities show up for and with one another.

These events are part of an ongoing initiative between our two communities. We are working to build relationships of trust that connect our hearts, help us truly get to know one another, and, over time, open space for us talk together about the racism and anti-Semitism that our communities face. We hope our budding relationships will help to bring meaning to our communities and healing to a world divided. As part of this initiative, Dr. Rev. Robert Waterman will be speaking at CBE on Shabbat on November 12, and Rabbi Rachel Timoner will be speaking at Antioch Baptist on Sunday.
