Refugee Task Force

CBE Refugee Task Force is partnering with the Community Bookstore to stage Undocumented. Unaccompanied. Unwelcome., an immigrant advocacy event. Valeria Luiselli, author of Tell Me How It Ends: An Essay In 40 Questions, will headline the event, which will begin with Ms. Luiselli reading from her book, followed by a panel discussion of immigration issues and ways we can individually and collectively assist the immigrant community. The panel will consist of Ms. Luiselli, Carlos Venezuala, an immigration attorney, two immigrant youths, Marilyn Alvarado, the child of immigrants from El Salvador and Honduras, and Diana Chaco, DACA recipient from Peru, and Angie Kim, Community Organizing Fellow at Minkown Center. After the event, there will be opportunities to sign up to volunteer with immigrant aid organizations at the conclusion of the event.
