June 11, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

This event will be held over Zoom.
Click here to RSVP, Zoom information will be provided upon RSVP.

Richard Barber, an independent filmmaker and producer/editor at CBS News, has made a series of short films between the summer of 2018 and January, 2020. They are stories of people helping migrants and asylum seekers and challenging inhumane immigration policies. Join CBE’s Refugee Task Force for a screening of these films over Zoom.

This screening includes films about the beginning of Team Brownsville, a group of volunteers helping asylum seekers at the Matamoros-Brownsville border, witnessing of child detention prisons in Tornillo, Texas and Homestead, Florida led by Brooklynite Joshua Rubin, and a convergence of these volunteers and witnesses in Brownsville/Matamoros this past January.

There will be a panel discussion and Q&A following the screening.
