Shabbat Morning Study

Rabbi Timoner’s class will be guest taught by Rabbi Leora Ezrachi. Rabbi Ezrachi, the 100th Reform rabbi ordained in Israel, serves as the rabbi of Nigun Halev in Kibbutz Gvat in Emek Yisrael.

Leora grew up in a Reform family in Jerusalem. Growing up as a member of “Kol Haneshama” in Jerusalem and in the Israeli Reform youth movement Noar Telem, she was felt a life long connection to liberal Judaism in Israel.  For the past 12 years, after completing military service as an officer in th I.D.F.. she has worked for the Reform Movement in Israel as an educator and Rabbinical Student. Leora has worked in Noar Telem, The Reform Youth movement in Israel, for the Mechina, a pre-army gap year program and as a student-rabbi at “Beit Tfila Israeli” in Tel Aviv and Kamatz, the Reform community of Mevasseret Zion. Activism and interfaith work has always been a big part of her life and in the past few years Leora has served as a local councilwomen in her town of 9000, as a board member of “Tag Meir”, a federation of over 50 organizations devoted to fighting hate crimes and is active in “Women Wage Peace”. She has led many interfaith services and events around the country.

Leora has always loved singing and leading services, connecting Israelis and Jews from around the world through prayer and music. She is the Rabbi of Kehillat “Niggun Halev”, an unaffiliated community in the Jezreel Valley.

Leora is married with 3 children.
