Masking Protocol:

Masking will continue to be optional for all. All parents are required to submit a masking preference form for your child.  Changes of your child’s masking preference must be submitted to the ECC office in writing.
IMPORTANT: There may be circumstances when your child will be required to wear a mask (please see below) or you may decide to have your child wear a mask for a period of time so we strongly recommend that you practice mask wearing at home if your child is not used to wearing a mask.

Covid-19 Exposure Protocols:

Please be sure to let us know if your child has had a COVID-19 exposure. Children who have been exposed to someone with Covid-19 may continue to attend school.

Household Exposure:

If a household member tests positive for COVID-19:
  • The positive household member should isolate themselves.
  • Monitor your child for symptoms and keep your child home if symptoms develop.
  • We strongly suggest your child take an at-home rapid test on Days 3 and 5 following the exposure.
  • We recommend your child wear a mask at school through Day 10 following the exposure.

Non-Household Exposure:

  •  Monitor your child for symptoms and keep your child home if symptoms develop.
  • Take an at-home rapid test on the day of the exposure and again on Days 3 and 5 following the exposure.
  • We recommend your child wear a mask through Day 5.

Positive Covid-19 Protocols:

Children who test positive for Covid-19 must quarantine for 5 days and can return to school on the 6th day, as long as they are not exhibiting any symptoms. They MUST wear a mask for 10 days after the onset of symptoms or a positive test, or they can remove their mask following two negative COVID-19 tests taken 48 hours apart.

No Tolerance Health Policy

Please remember the ECC continues to have a no tolerance health policy. Children and our teachers may not come to school when symptomatic. If a teacher or child is symptomatic they MUST quarantine and obtain COVID testing (1 PCR professional or 2 home rapid tests 24 hours apart), symptoms resolving/resolved and fever free for 24 hours without aid of medication prior to returning to school. If symptoms persist, doctor’s documentation clearing them for return to school is required.

The ECC will not require surveillance testing at this time. The above policies are subject to change, depending on COVID-19 rates in our area, or revised requirements from the DOH.
