CBE is thrilled to host a screening of Last Flight Home, written and directed by Ondi Timoner, Rabbi Timoner’s sister. The screening will be held on Tuesday, November 1 at 6:30 PM in the CBE Sanctuary. Doors will open at 6:00 PM, and we will have a popcorn truck before the film, so make sure to get there early to get your snacks. A Q&A with Rabbi Timoner and her family and reception will follow the film.

On an unremarkable suburban street, we find 92-year-old Eli Timoner, who founded Air Florida, the fastest growing airline in the world in the 1970s. During his final days, we discover an extraordinary life, one filled with wild achievements, tragic loss and, above all, the enduring love of his family. With her latest film, Ondi Timoner, Eli’s daughter and two-time winner of the Sundance Film Festival’s Documentary Grand Jury Prize (DIG!, We Live in Public), has created her most personal vérité film yet—a moving and honest conversation with mortality. Last Flight Home takes audiences on an unforgettable ride through Eli Timoner’s life, illustrating a modern-day success story built on the power of human connection. As the Timoners open up their lives to offer an enlightening view of a universal experience, they demonstrate the grace, connection—and joy—that can emerge from embracing death.

Our screening is free for both members and non-members, but please make sure to sign up to reserve your seats.
