Make a difference this MLK Weekend with CBE and Repair the World!

On Friday, January 18, join us for a special Shabbat evening in honor of Dr. King’s legacy, beginning with Kabbalat Shabbat services at 6:30pm, followed by dinner. While we break bread we will spend time learning the ways in which each of us can take action through service, advocacy, and organizing. We will be hearing from three Brooklyn thought-leaders: Yehudah Webster, Rabbi Rachel Timoner, and Mark Winston Griffith, Founder and Executive Director of the Brooklyn Movement Center. They will share their experiences and knowledge on ways in which we can come together as a community to challenge oppression and white supremacy within our community and the world at large. Click here to RSVP.

On Monday, January 21, join us for three awesome service projects at CBE in the ballroom, from 9:30 AM to 12 PM. For more information about all of the projects and to RSVP, click here. Together, we will support youth poets, paint a mural in the synagogue (a great project for young children!), prepare food for a local pantry, and package birthdays-in-a-bag for a local partner in need.

If you have any questions, please contact Rabbi Matt Green at mgreen@cbebk.org.
