2nd Grade: Welcome Back to Yachad!

Jewish Studies

Jewish Studies with Haley, Anat and Ashley

We were so excited to welcome all of our students back to CBE after a restful and fulfilling break.

This week was all about refreshing our minds, bodies, and souls on kavod (respect) and how to be the best yachad students we can be. We talked about the class Brit (Code of Conduct) and why it is so important as Jews to have rules and respect in our lives. Students studied the Brit through choice activities from games to art to writing.

Questions to ask at home:

What kinds of rules are in your class brit at yachad?
Why is is so important to have rules/ structure in life?
What does Kavod (respect) look like? At home? At school? At yachad?

K-2 Shabbat Family Program

“A group of people were travelling in a boat. One of them took a drill and began to drill a hole beneath himself. His companions said to him, ‘What are you sitting and doing?’ The man replied, ‘What concern is it of yours? Am I not drilling under my own place?’ They said to him: ‘But you will flood the boat for us all!” This week students and parents explored this story and others while diving into achrayut for the environment. Click here for the parent class and here for the student session! We look forward to wrapping up our Achrayut unit this Shabbat!
