Welcome to 7th Grade!

Hi families!

It was so wonderful seeing the 7th graders on Thursday evening. During class, the students had fun doing some icebreakers, talking about the importance of identity and taking a survey about what they’re interested in learning this year in Yachad. During Tefillah with Cantor Josh, students with upcoming B’nei Mitzvah were called up to the bimah to practice taking the Torah from the ark and saying the blessings. During our second block, students learned about the Tikkun Olam-A-Thon community service project they will be embarking on this year as seventh graders and took a survey indicating what areas of social justice they are most eager to get involved in.

Heads-up to families: Be on the lookout for a message from me in the next few weeks indicating some Save-The-Dates for family sessions that 7th graders will be participating in with their parents/guardians this year through the program Moving Traditions. You can find out more about the Moving Traditions curriculum here.

Speaking of Save-The-Dates, I am having my adult B Mitzvah at CBE on Saturday, December 21 and I would be thrilled if your families would join me. More details on that to follow. Hope you all have a terrific week!
