Guest Speaker in Combat Climate Change tonight!
Hi families!
Tikkun Olam update: We were thrilled today to have Anna Liebowitz, a Yachad parent who happens to be a climate change scientist, speak to our Combat Climate Change class today about the science behind the issues. We only have a few weeks left for students to be learning about the content they are specializing in this year for the the Tikkun Olam-A-Thon. When we return from February break, we’ll be switching gears from learning to doing and students will first have the opportunity to choose an organization to allocate funds towards (shout out to Leslie Lewin and Lori Chajet-Wides for taking the lead on this!) and then will spend the remainder of the year working on individual service/awareness projects related to their Tikkun Olam class. More details to come soon!
Electives update: Some great stuff happened in electives tonight including: kids created their own mezuzahs in Jewish Arts & Crafts, discussed how one man is combatting anti-Semitic trolling on Twitter in Jewish Pop Culture, and discovered how the entire Joseph narrative is basically a mirror image of itself in Torah study.

Shabbat in the Home, Save the Date 4/3
As we enter into our third theme of the year, kesher/connection, we are excited to share that each grade will have a Friday evening where families can host each other for Shabbat dinner! This will be a wonderful way for students and parents to get to know each other outside of the walls of Yachad and to share in the joy of Shabbat together at home. More info coming soon!
