This year’s Annual Meeting of the Membership will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at 7:00 PM, via Zoom. All members received an email with a link to register on May 21, 2023. If you did not receive that email and/or still need the link to register, please email info@cbebk.org.

At this time, the slate of Trustees and Officers will be submitted for election, and proposed amendments to the By-Laws will be submitted for approval. The slate of nominees was submitted by the Nominating and Governance Committee on May 5, 2023. You may view the slate, the By-Laws amendments, and the meeting agenda below.

Please note up to two adult members per household are entitled to vote.

New Trustee Bios

Rebecca Kleinhandler-Dahan

Rebecca is a native Brooklynite and almost a lifetime member of CBE. Having grown up at CBE, she attended the ECC, camps, after school, Hebrew School and youth group and also became bat mitzvah and was confirmed at CBE. While in graduate school, Rebecca taught Hebrew School, Academy and was the BESTY advisor. Rebecca volunteers on several committees, including Yachad and helping to support Shir L’Shabbat. Rebecca and her husband Eyal live in Ditmas Park with their two daughters, one is an ECC alumna and a current Yachad student and the other will be attending the ECC. Rebecca graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Near Eastern studies and Comparative Literature and has a MA from the Jewish Theological Seminary in Modern Jewish Literature. Professionally, Rebecca is an Executive Vice President at Toby & Company, a kids and baby accessories company.

Tamar Renaud

Tamar Renaud (French, Swiss, Brazilian) and her husband, Iain Levine (English, Irish) decided to drop some roots after years of global wanderings and confused national identity, finding their home at CBE in 2011. They have two children, Maya and Liam, who studied in Yachad and became madrichim. Tamar co-leads the Ritual Committee and a monthly havdalah in the park, was on the CBE COVID Council, and loves learning through CBE, be it on anti-racism, Israel, or anti-Judaism. Professionally, Tamar has spent her career in public health, and has worked with the UN, NYU-Langone, the NYC health department, and non-profit organizations, including one that she co-founded in Thailand.

Debbie Rosen

Debbie lives in Park Slope with her husband Jonathan and two children. They have been members of CBE since 2013, though they were regular attendees at Shir L’Shabbat two years prior. Currently, Debbie is the chair of the Chesed Care Package Team. She has worked in senior executive roles in New York City and State government for two decades managing major agencies, policy portfolios and legislative issues. Previously, Debbie served as the Chief of Staff to the First Deputy Mayor and as Chief of Staff at the New York City Office of Management and Budget. Prior to her work at the Mayor’s office, Debbie served as a senior staffer in the New York State Assembly, the New York City Council’s Health Committee and the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. She also serves on the Foundation Board of the CUNY School of Professional Studies. Debbie holds a B.A. from Washington University.

Every member of the Congregation is entitled to vote by proxy on any matter on which such member is entitled to vote at the Annual Meeting of the Congregation. To be valid, a proxy must be executed through submission of our online form by the member conferring the same and shall not be given to any person other than a member of the Congregation. Please note the proxy form will close at 6:15 PM on Tuesday, June 6 in advance of the meeting.
