Building Our 2nd Grade Community

Jewish Studies

Second Grade Tuesdays/Wednesdays Jewish Studies with Haley

This week, we were so excited to welcome new and returning students to Yachad for another amazing year! We focused on building a strong community that will grow and learn together throughout the year. We spent time learning names through games. We also made name tags that students personalized and will get to wear all year, as a way to continue learning names and expressing ourselves. During Tefilah, with Rabbi Epstien, we sang, practiced prayers and got to learn about the ark and see the Torahs inside. Throughout the year, we will be focusing on Torah and all of the stories of the Jewish people. We can’t wait to get started!

Saturday Jewish Studies with Anat and Ashley

We are so excited to meet all of you on Saturday! Stay tuned next Thursday, 9/19 for an update about what we do this Saturday!

Hebrew Through Movement

Tuesdays/Wednesdays Hebrew Through Movement with Edan

This week, we learned about each person in our class and what they are excited to learn in Hebrew. Edan led a fun activity where he taught us the words for stand, sit, walk, jump, slow and fast in Hebrew. Edan modeled for the class using only Hebrew words, and then had the students practice. Even then beginner Hebrew learners, caught on quickly and are excited to keep learning more Hebrew words!
