Finishing up our Passover Unit!

This week our weekday Second graders finished their unit on Passover! Our Saturday students did not have instructional time, because we celebrated Passover Around the World with our family workshops! We were so excited to see so many of you there!

Tuesday Jewish Studies

This was our last class before Passover! We continued practicing the 4 Questions with Rabbi Epstein during Tefilah. Your student can continue practicing at home here.

We created plague wheels to help us remember the 10 Plagues. Your student can bring it to your Passover seder!
We also watched clips from the movie “The Prince of Egypt” to review Moses’s story. Many students were interested in watching the full movie so I encourage you to rent it (it’s also on Hulu).
Happy Passover!

David’s Class

Dear Parents,
This week we continued to learn about Passover, we dealt mainly with the ten plagues, but we also spoke about the significance of asking questions during the holiday. I told the children that a lot of the strange things we do on Seder night are mainly for them to ask questions. We talked about how the main tool for learning is curiosity, that they have tons of it, and that I hope they will continue.
We did a nice piece of work about the lesson, which the children took home, and finally we watched the movie ‘Prince of Egypt’.
I wish that everyone will have a happy holiday full of matzos,
David.

Hebrew Through Movement

Tuesday

Shalom families,

This week for HTM, students followed Hebrew commands while engaging with the Haggadah. When commanded to open and read from the Hagadah, (liftoach v’likroh min ha’hagadah), they were super excited to sing the Ma Nishtana. They have really mastered it!

We also played a hot (cham) and cold (kar) game in Hebrew while looking for the Afikomen.
