Jewish Studies with Ashley
Hi 1st Grade B fams!
On Saturday, students finished learning about the story of Purim. They had all sorts of great questions about how the Jewish people have survived even though there have been so many times when people have wanted to destroy us. We discussed how Queen Esther comes to take pride in being Jewish, and we talked about when we feel proud to be Jewish. Students drew pictures of when they are most proud to be Jewish. For most of them, it was during Jewish holidays. For Jake (our regular madrich) and I, we shared that we are truly most proud to be Jewish when we are at Yachad with your wonderful kiddos ๐
Next week, students will move onto Passover! We will discuss the story of Passover and learn what the four questions are. Hope youโre having a great week!

Hebrew Through Movement
In Hebrew through movement we are still learning about colors. We reviewed the words: red (adom-ืืืื)
yellow(tzahov-ืฆืืื)
green (yarok-ืืจืืง)
blue (kachol-ืืืื)
hand (yad-ืื)
leg/foot(regel-ืจืื)
We learned the meaning of the word โalโ (on/over). After leaning all of the necessary words, we played a game of twister with all of the new words and had a great time!
