First Grade: Finishing up Tu BiShevat
This week, our focus was on Tu Bishvat. We started class by saying “happy birthday” to the trees outside the classroom. Then we played an acting game in which students could choose a mask of an animal that relied on trees in some way,
and act out their interactions with trees. After Hebrew Through Movement, the students were challenged to draw an out of this world tree. (Allison’s Class)
(Tzachi’s Class)
This Shabbat we finished our unit about the Hebrew calendar, Tu BiShevat, and personal hygiene as it relates to the environment. We concluded our units while incorporating HTM, during which students reviewed their Hebrew words with a matching game.
I recommend that you continue practicing the Hebrew calendar with your children!
