Jacob and Esau (Sat/Tues)

This week, we started learning about the story of Jacob and Esau. We will spend the next few months diving deep into this story, learning about the history of the Jewish court system, and then having a mock trial to determine whether Jacob is guilty of stealing Esau’s birthright. The students are already very excited! All parents are invited to the trial which will be held the evening of March 5th so please mark your calendars. Additionally, in the past, we’ve had a 5th grade parent who was a lawyer come to speak to the class during this unit to teach the students about the process of a trial and the different roles. If you or any of your relatives are a lawyer or work in a legal profession, and are interested in coming into class to speak, please let me know!

Additionally, as this was our first week back from break, we reviewed expectations for classroom behavior and treating each other with respect, and we created a new classroom brit(covenant).
