Looking Forward- Last Trimester
Last week the 7th graders started their last trimester of the year. The students are in their third and final rotation of either Torah, Mizvot, or T’filah. For the remainder of class last week students either worked on researching their mitzvah project topic and possible organizations to work with, or learning about SMART goals to better focus on their Mitzvah project. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Realistic, and Time Bound. Students were able to organize their thoughts for their project in these 4 categories to really make a plan for what they need to accomplish. The goal is to set the foundation for them to move forward into the mitzvah project with a clear goal and understanding of how they will achieve that goal. This week the students will work on finishing their SMART goals if they haven’t already. In addition students who have done their SMART goals will work on their Strategic Planning worksheet that zooms into the aim of the project, what Jewish values are present, and how the students can measure success. We are very excited to see how the students have really taken on these mitzvah projects and made them their own. As a reminder, the projects should be finished by May 2nd. If students start now, this gives them plenty of time to put in the recommended 10-15 hours.
