Mishkan T’filah ceremoney coming up!

Third grade is learning about the high holidays and preparing to receive their own siddurim!

Announcements

In third grade, each student will receive their very own Mishkan T’filah siddur to pray with, that they will use all year and as long as they’re at Yachad. We’ll host a special ceremony for this on September 27th, from 6pm to 8pm at CBE in the ballroom, on the 274 Garfield Pl side of the street. You can register here, and write an inscription in the siddur.

2. Want to feel more comfortable at Shabbat morning services?

Rabbi Matt Green will be teaching an 8-week workshop geared toward explaining the service and familiarizing members with the prayers and melodies we use at CBE during services, 10:30-11:30, from Sept. 21 to Nov. 9. Free and open to all! Sign up here.

2. Siddurim Ceremony

Jewish Studies

This week, we finalized our class brits and all signed on, agreeing on our community standards for the year. We also started talking about Rosh Hashanah! We’re learning about how to apologize, what makes a good apology, and why the beginning of the Jewish new year is a time to reflect and make things right. /

Hebrew Through Movement with Edan

3rd grade worked on these verbs – to stand, to sit, to walk, to stop, to run, to jump, to spin. Nouns: everyone, team (A/B/C), Door, table, chair, teacher, counselor, board, window. Additionally they were introduced to the adverbs slow, fast, in place, and connecting words: to, now, only, and, no\yes.

And for a bonus…

Here are your children in services! This is what they’ll look like with their new siddurim.
