Celebrate Pride with CBE!
Brooklyn Pride is coming up and CBE will be the gathering space for all queer, Jewish Brooklynites and those who love them! On Friday night, join us for a family-friendly Shabbat dinner and services featuring the CBE Quintet and guest speaker Jaimie Krass, CEO and President of Keshet. On Saturday, gather with LGBTQ+ Jews from across Brooklyn for dinner and sweet treats before marching in (or watching) the Brooklyn Pride Parade. About Jaimie Krass
With anti-oppressive pedagogy, resilient hope, and fierce compassion as her modi operandi, Jaimie serves as Keshet’s President & CEO. Prior to stepping into this role, Jaimie served as Keshet’s National Director of Youth Programs, revolutionizing this work to reach three times as many youth (over 1,500 annually) through 100+ programs, led by youth themselves. Before Keshet, Jaimie was a Hillel campus professional for seven years (two at Muhlenberg College Hillel in PA, and five at Columbia/Barnard Hillel in NYC), creating and leading immersive experiences, reimagining Jewish tradition, and empowering students to seize ownership of their journeys and become leaders in their communities. She received her B.A. in political science and Jewish studies from the University of Florida and her M.A. in Jewish education and nonprofit professional leadership from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.
Throughout her career — and extending back to her teenage years, when she founded the GSA at her Florida high school — she has advocated for LGBTQ+ justice and belonging, facilitating trainings at conferences, JCCs, and synagogues, and creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ Russian-speaking Jewish teens in Brooklyn, NY. She is a proud Pardes alum, member of the Schusterman ROI Community, and was a dedicated volunteer crisis counselor with the Trevor Project for 10 years.
Outside of work, Jaimie enjoys starting every day with a double espresso, seeing as much theatre as she can, and simultaneously complaining about NYC while also insisting it is the greatest city in the world. She lives in (you guessed it) New York with her wife and their dog, MishMish.
