Purim through story and crafts!
Last Saturday, our K-1 Dual Language students made lots of Purim crafts and learned more about the story of Purim!
We started class with a Shalom Sesame cartoon that told the Purim story. We practiced the song “Mi shetov lo v’sameach” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOS4_7nOu-c&feature=youtu.be). We also listened and danced to a new song about Purim. We read about Sammy the Spider’s Purim adventures. For choice time, students could choose between making a finger mask, playing the matching game with our fruit/vegetable words, playing a number game on the computer, and reading.
Here are some of the students with their finger masks:
We also played Dag Maluach. For our craft this week, our madrich, Nadav, lead the class in making crowns for Purim. Here are some pictures of the group making their crowns:
We ended class with a game of Guess the Leader!
We hope to see everyone next week! We’ll be talking about tikkun olam and working with our new vocabulary in sentences.
