The Story of Passover, part 1!

Last Saturday we began learning about Passover!

Last Saturday we read the story of baby Moses, a Jewish boy who became a Prince of Egypt. We learned that Moses means ” took out of the water” and how, thanks to his sister Miriam, his real mother became his nurse and helped raise him. We also learned that as a grown up, Moses couldn’t watch the hitting of a Jewish slave by an Egyptian and that one day, he got mad and killed an Egyptian wrongdoer. As a result, the Jewish Prince became an outlaw and had to run away from Egypt. The children enjoyed making baby Moses baskets.
This coming Saturday we’ll continue our Passover journey.

Hebrew Through Movement

In Hebrew through movement we are still learning about colors. We reviewed the words: red (adom-אדום)

yellow(tzahov-צהוב)

green (yarok-ירוק)

blue (kachol-כחול)

hand (yad-יד)

leg/foot(regel-רגל)

We learned the meaning of the word “al” (on/over). After leaning all of the necessary words, we played a game of twister with all of the new words and had a great time!
