Our Community Organizing Project is Underway!

The 9th Grade Yachad class has spent the past year delving into today’s most pivotal social justice issues affecting Jewish and non-Jewish communities alike. Spanning from racial to economic to food justice, we have treaded on numerous topics, and our students recently decided how we will be spending the rest of our year: asking CBE to begin recycling plastic!

Students are dividing up and being put into teams to determine who they need to meet with, what organizing strategies will be most effective and how to keep this project sustainable once the class ends. After we return back from our trip to the South next week, all wheels will be in motion to accomplish this task. Stay tuned and be ready to recycle!
