The Civil Rights Movement

The students got the opportunity to learn about the world of community organizing and social justice issues that are happening around them. This week we started watching Selma, an amazing movie that illustrates MLK’s involvement in Selma, Alabama and some of the racial injustices experienced during that time. Watching Selma is an important part of our year because it shows places we are going to visit on our Civil Rights Journey to the South in April. We will be finishing the movie next week and diving more into these issues of racial injustices.
