Learning about Tu B’shvat!
We also learned (to some of the kids, rehearsed) a selection of fruits and vegetables, in singular and plural, played a matching game using these f&v and later made our own sets during art time, to take home!
If you’d like to play the matching game with the kids, these are the fruits and vegetables we included:
strawberries, peaches, apples, pomegranate, avocado, corn, cucumbers, carrots, pears ; in Hebrew, respectively:
תות,תותים tut-tuttim
אפרסק,אפרסקים afarsek-afarsekim
תפוח,תפוחים tapuach-tapuchim
רימון,רימונים rimon/rimonim
אבוקדו,אבוקדו(אים) avocado-im
תירס,תירסים (קלחי תירס-tiras, tirasim- kilvhey tiras would be a more correct way to say, but tiraim is legible!)
מלפפון,מלפפונים (melaphephon, melaphephonim)
גזר, גזרים (gezer, gzarim)
אגס, אגסים (agas, agasim) Similarly to other matching games we are looking to find a matching pair – tut and tuttim, for example but in this case, the kids should be able to say the name of the fruit/veg in order to keep the pair!
