The 5th graders are gearing up for the Esau vs Jacob mock trial and are excited to show you all what they’ve been working on over the past month.
This was our first week using our brand new workbooks during our Hebrew lesson. Students are continuing to work in leveled groups of 2-4 during this time to get personalized attention from teachers and madrichim.
Our 5th grade students are busy examining evidence and developing their arguments in the mock trial case of whether Esau wrongfully stole Jacob’s birthright. Over the past two weeks, in addition to learning about the ancient Jewish court system, we’ve been lucky enough to hear from real lawyers about their jobs and experience.
This week in 5th grade, we wrapped up our last online Hebrew “side by side” lesson. We’ve been briefly assessing students’ progress in order to plan a Hebrew curriculum for the rest of the year.
This week, we continued learning about the story of Jacob and Esau on Monday. The students began developing arguments about whether or not they think Jacob is guilty of stealing his father’s birthright.
